Tokit, SingularDTV’s project creation/funding and rights management application, launches November 6, 2017.

A few days later on November 9, a week-long launch party begins. During this party we’ll showcase how to use Tokit by tokenizing Gramatik, a short film, a feature film, a television pilot, two non-profit organizations and… we’ll have a few surprises too.

The launch of Tokit represents SingularDTV’s “first wave” of applications. This first wave is focused on the “development” of projects. The point is to create your projects with Tokit, start growing your audience from the very beginning, and get your projects made. Once complete, you can distribute them on EtherVision. EtherVision is one of SingularDTV’s distribution applications that launches in 2018.

The 3 Waves of SingularDTV Applications

Wave 1 — “Development” Applications that help develop and fund projects.

Wave 2 — “Production” Applications that help produce projects.

Wave 3 — “Distribution” Applications where audiences around the world can watch, read, listen to and experience content.

TOKIT and TOKENOMICS

I heard the phrase “tokenomics” recently and loved it, so I’m adopting that phrase as well.

Most likely very few will know how to effectively, successfully use Tokit in the beginning without knowing a bit about tokenomics. Tokit will not only help independent artists thrive, but will also help publishers, distributors, curators and production companies more efficiently manage and control their intellectual property. Even studios who are looking to manage the rights, royalties/revenue flow of thousands of pieces of content will benefit from Tokit. By benefit I mean revolutionize and evolve the way they do business.

Behind the scenes SingularDTV is showing a number of entities how to use Tokit. We look forward to announcing some of these amazing partnerships and unions in the weeks and months to come.

With Great Freedom Comes Great Responsibility…

It’s important to note that with greater freedom and liberty — controlling your intellectual property, its rights and revenue flow — comes greater responsibility. Bitcoin showed how blockchain technology gives us control over our money. But if you lose access to your wallet there’s no customer service to call. You can lose all your money! Blockchain technology requires us to be responsible and accountable for our actions.

Same with Tokit, if you want to participate in the evolution of entertainment, you need to be responsible for your Tokit wallet and the tokens you generate.

Seeding the World With Content

Between the launch of Tokit and the release of EtherVision in 2018, SingularDTV will be funding projects created on Tokit. Every week we’ll choose an exciting project to launch and fund, from music and movies to podcasts and ebooks.

It’s a Marathon, Not a Sprint

From time to time people tell us that SingularDTV is flying under the radar, too far under the radar. Some even say we need mainstream exposure. It’s true, we are flying under the radar but we’re not looking for mainstream exposure — not yet. We’re right where we want to be… slowly building a solid foundation from which to build a sustainable decentralized entertainment economy. Growing too quickly could mean growing in the wrong way, which could be detrimental to our long term goals. Again ladies and gentlemen, it’s not about the short-term speculative price of SNGLS, it’s about increasing the value of the intellectual property of the SNGLS token through the development of decentralized applications that empower artists and creators.

Building a sustainable entertainment economy is a long term goal — a marathon, not a sprint. Attracting the wrong kind of attention, and the wrong kind of user, could put out the fire before it starts. What we’re looking for in these first waves of artists and projects is a certain kind of mindset, a decentralizing mindset. Gramatik “gets it”, all the artists and projects we’re launching over the next few months and into 2018 “get it”. It’s these type of artists and projects — with a special understanding of decentralization — that will help lay the foundation we need to build from effectively. As we slowly build momentum and marketcap, we can slowly begin to reach a broader and wider kind of artist and audience.
