An Introduction to NFT Crafting
ZOONFTs have been very popular since the launch of ZooKeeper a few months ago. It will soon be possible to combine two (2) current NFT Boosters (or ZooBoosters) together — with an Elixir (or ZooElixir), and create an upgraded ZooBooster NFT from it.
Our crafting function will give it another dimension and most mechanics will be detailed in this article.
Note: We originally used Magic Spells as a code name to refer to Elixirs.
1) First, ZooElixirs
ZooElixirs are generative NFTs. This means that they are randomly assigned a name, color, and shape, resulting in each ZooElixir being unique.
An Elixir bottle will have to be filled with drops in order to be used in the Crafting process.
Apart from Class, the fill amount of drops is also key to understanding crafting mechanics as it is required to use more drops in the crafting of higher level ZooBooster NFTs:
- Level 1 ZooBooster NFT Crafting requires 40 drops;
- Level 2 ZooBooster NFT Crafting requires 70 drops;
- Level 3 ZooBooster NFT Crafting requires 100 drops.
A total of five classes (N, R, SR, SSR, and UR) are available for each ZooElixir to be upgraded to. This occurs once it has reached the maximum drops fill quota for each Class, until reaching the maximum level UR ZooElixir. Each new Elixir class upgrade must be manually executed by the user once the current class is full.
When an Elixir bottle is empty, the user can fill it up again or sell it directly through The Market. A separate tab in The Market will be available for ZooElixir trading — whether empty, partially filled, or full.
2) Then, The Alchemist Lab Pool
The Alchemist Lab functions like a standard staking Pool; you stake $ZOO, and the more you stake, the faster you fill your Elixir bottle with drops. The amount of time you need to stake will be determined by the ZooElixir class, or number of drops you wish to obtain.
In order to start the process, you will need an empty Elixir bottle which can be purchased directly from the Alchemist Lab Pool, or a partially filled one imported from My Safe.
ZooElixirs and ZOO tokens can be withdrawn from the Alchemist Lab Pool at any time.
3) Finally, The Combining
- Risk-Free Crafting
The central point of the crafting process is to combine two similar ZooBooster NFTs. This risk-free action will require a ZooElixir of the same Class filled with the number of drops required for its level (see part 1).
Once the user has all the necessary elements, the two ZooBooster NFTs and the ZooElixir can be combined and the next level ZooBooster NFT will be created. Both NFTs used in the crafting will be burned and the number of drops in the ZooElixir Bottle will decrease accordingly.
Note that a higher Class ZooElixir would normally be used to combine two ZooBooster NFTs of the same Class but it can also be used on lower Class NFTs.
- Hazardous Crafting
Another engaging point of crafting is the gambling element. You will be able to combine different rarity ZooBooster classes within the same, OR different categories — as long as they are of the same level — and hope it results in the creation of the highest possible Class/Category NFT. This process is risky as it could also result in a lower level NFT being minted.
Of course, the higher the gap between each category/rarity of NFT, the lower the chances to obtain the better version. This will be clearly indicated before validation of the craft. Regardless of the outcome, both NFTs used for crafting will be burned.
