From Plair Alpha to Beta — The Final Countdown and Upcoming Rewards!
The long-anticipated Beta release is right around the corner! It will be an open Beta which will be open to the public. We anticipate there will be many loyal Plair fans, as well as newcomers jumping aboard! To get you better prepared for the beta launch, we’ve put together this article.
Read through the instructions and get ready for Plair’s Beta release in the upcoming week! You will get a chance to convert Testnet PLA you win to real PLA by participating in the upcoming tournaments!
Beta Release Timeline of September
The beta release will run progressively from Testnet to Mainnet which can be divided into 3 stages from Alpha(Testnet), Beta(Testnet) to Beta(Mainnet). The official launch date of Beta is EST 1st Sep 2019.
Alpha Platform will be shut down within this week and the deadline for bug submission is EST 30 Aug 2019 12:00 pm(UTC -4). All bug reports submitted after the time stated above WILL NOT BE counted as valid. The platform will be running on VeChain powered Testnet for a few weeks before officially switching to Mainnet no later than the end of Sep. Users can easily spot the request[Testnet PLA] and [Testnet VTHO] tabs at the Testnet Stage of Beta but the tabs will be abolished once Beta Mainnet is launched.
Game titles we support once we launch Beta are Dota 2 and CS:GO. These games hosted by Plair are available as early as Beta Testnet stage. We’ll also support more features once we switch to Mainnet, such as, create your tourney for CS:GO and create team/organization, etc.
More to Add in Beta Mainnet For Mass Adoption
New games, new payment model and new features!
Beta release is just the start for the team. Our development team has already been testing out a new game which is scheduled to release in late September. The game title will be officially revealed within the next month. Followed by that, we will be adding more popular game titles.
VTHO Testnet during the Beta (Testnet) stage is completely free and there will be clear guides and instructions on how to get them. Meanwhile, the Beta version in September will require users to burn their own VTHO but this won’t be for long. Plair team is aware that fee delegation will overcome one of the major obstacles for end-users from mass adopting Plair platform. Multi-Party Payment Protocol (MPP) has already been put on Plair’s development schedule to deal with the complexity in dealing with crypto assets. As we mentioned in Plair Quarterly Update and Future Outlook, streaming is a vital part of the gaming ecosystem. We are building the streaming platform which will not only allow users to stream their content but gamers will be able to earn revenue on Plair with PLA donation functionality. The release timeline is Q4 2019- Q1 2020.
Alpha PLA Rewards Distribution
We would like to express our gratitude to the group of private Alpha participants who helped us improve. We are able to move smoothly from Alpha to Beta because of your valuable feedback
Alpha testers won’t have to worry about the rewards claiming procedure. We’ve got it all covered by making it as simple as possible. In the majority of the cases, testers are not required to take any actions to receive the tokens directly to your wallet address:
- By default, the PLA rewards you are entitled to will be sent to the wallet address you submitted at the end of the survey.
- For those who didn’t complete the survey/completed the survey without filling in your wallet address, PLA will be sent to the “Comet VeChain Wallet Address” provided in [Request Token] on the Alpha platform.
- If you haven’t provided any wallet addresses, you’ll be required to update the wallet address via email.
