Trading Of Fan Tokens For Over 10 Of The World’s Biggest Sports Teams Available in Q1 2020

MALTA, 23rd January 2020: Chiliz (Binance.com: $CHZ) CEO Alexandre Dreyfus has announced the launch of Chiliz.net during a live keynote broadcast on the Chiliz YouTube channel. Chiliz.net is a first-of-its-kind mobile and desktop crypto exchange for sports & entertainment products. Available now on desktop, iOS and Android, a full launch will follow next month when the Fan Token Offerings (FTO™) for all the Socios.com partner teams begin.

Socios.com is the world’s first fan voting & rewards mobile application, which launched in Q4 2019. Powered by Chiliz $CHZ, Socios.com has already partnered with 7 of the top sports teams in the world to bring crypto-powered fan engagement to a new mass market audience.

In launching Chiliz.net, Fan Tokens for Juventus ($JUV), Paris Saint-Germain ($PSG), Atlético de Madrid ($ATM), A.S. Roma ($ASR), Galatasaray ($GAL) and West Ham United ($WHU) will be available on Chiliz.net to buy and/or sell from the end of February, as well as available to purchase on Socios.com. Fan Tokens for esports giants OG ($OG) will be available from March. All Fan Token trading is paired against Chiliz $CHZ. The exchange features traditional crypto pairs such as BTC/USDT and more, with more to come to bring liquidity.

Chiliz.net will be fully integrated with Socios.com, meaning that Fan Tokens currently held in a Socios wallet can be transferred out. Any Fan Tokens bought on Chiliz.net can also be transferred in.

Each Socios.com partner club is committed to actively promoting their Fan Tokens across their own channels, with marketing activities to include high-profile social media campaigns, featuring first team players. Earlier this month, in a moment of unprecedented visibility for a crypto-based asset, Juventus announced the results of the first poll to be held using $JUV on Socios.com live at the Allianz Stadium before the club’s Serie A game with Cagliari. In December 2019, Juventus became the first club in the world to launch their own Fan Token.

As well as the seven initial partner clubs, Chiliz are set to reveal more club partnerships soon, with one club announcement set to be unveiled imminently. The vision is to have in excess of 50 Socios.com partners from football, esports and other sports & entertainment verticals by the end of 2020, and therefore over 50 Fan Tokens that can be bought and sold via Chiliz.net.

Alexandre Dreyfus, CEO & Founder of Chiliz & Socios.com said: “We’re really excited to finally reveal the plans for Chiliz.net, the world’s first crypto exchange for sports & entertainment. Since minting the first Fan Tokens and launching Socios.com in 2019, the ability to trade Fan Tokens has been frequently requested by our fans and followers as well as our Token holders.

“For Chiliz.net, we’ve used state-of-the-art software to launch a desktop and mobile platform that facilitates the 24/7 trading of digital assets from some of the biggest sporting brands in the world — Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Atletico de Madrid and Galatasaray to name but a few.

“This will be the first crypto exchange that doesn’t focus on traditional crypto products, which means we’re also not in competition with the big crypto exchanges. In launching our own niche exchange, where only Fan Tokens can be traded, we’re also opening a new narrative for media — seeing an instantly recognisable ticker symbol in the exchange and tracking the changes in the index ranking of each team’s crypto asset.”

While Chiliz is headquartered in Malta, Chiliz.net will be operated from Singapore, as part of the company’s growth plans in Asia. In Q4 of last year, the company also announced the opening of a research, development & partnerships blockchain hub to be based in Beijing to support the Chinese sports industry’s adoption of blockchain technology, whilst in Korea, Chiliz also recently announced the appointment of Brian Hyunmin Han, formerly part of the team within Klatyn of Ground X, as Managing Director for Chiliz in South Korea with direct responsibility for business development within the country.

Chiliz has undergone a remarkable period of growth since raising $60m in 2018. The company now has 60+ team members, spanning 24 different nationalities, and across multiple disciplines, bringing with them invaluable experience from industries such as sports, gaming, entertainment and payment solutions. The reach of $CHZ has also expanded significantly with several key listings on exchanges including Crypto.com, Bitfinex, Bitpanda, Indian crypto exchange WazirX and Coinone — one of the biggest cryptocurrency exchanges in Korea — as well as Binance, who are also a strategic investor.

Chiliz.net will initially be available in seven different languages, including Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai, Turkish and English.
