Gemini Shutting Down Canadian Operations
Gemini has announced the closure of all customer accounts in Canada, effective December 31, 2024. The exchange informed its users through an email on September 30, advising them to withdraw their assets within a 90-day period starting from that date.
This decision follows stricter regulatory measures introduced by the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA), including requirements for trading platforms to sign a pre-registration undertaking (PRU). While Gemini initially complied with these regulations, the exchange has now opted to exit the Canadian market.
