What is BarnBridge?
BarnBridge is a protocol founded in 2019 that tokenizes risks. Launched in September 2020, it functions as a DeFi lego for creating tradeable tokens that expose consumers to market volatility.
BarnBridge expands DeFi functionality by tokenizing market fluctuations and risk exposures, reducing volatility for conservative investors and increasing it for day traders. It divides cryptocurrency risks into tranches, enabling market participants to invest in different products based on their risk profiles. The platform creates tokenized derivatives based on various market metrics, such as rates of return and prices, categorizing them into high, medium, and low risk/reward categories. Additionally, BarnBridge supports SMART Alpha Bonds to hedge against price risks of ERC-20 tokens.
The BOND token is integral to BarnBridge’s ecosystem, facilitating participation in governance and the platform’s risk management processes. It is used to create and manage tokenized derivatives and fixed income products, enhancing the platform’s utility and enabling users to tailor their investments according to their risk tolerance.
