What is Onyxcoin?
Onyxcoin (XCN), formerly known as Chain, is a web3 blockchain platform founded in 2014 to build reliable financial services. It combines scalability with user-friendly smart contracts, supports multi-asset operations, and enables cross-network interoperability. The core mission of Onyxcoin is to address inefficiencies in the traditional financial system by providing a unified distributed ledger for transparent and secure settlements.
The protocol is built on a cloud-based architecture with APIs for regulated ledgers, offering access to RPC and WebSocket endpoints for network interaction. It applies the principle of least authority, ensuring users retain control over assets regardless of ledger synchronization. XCN is the platform’s native token, used for paying for services and products, staking, and participating in governance through the Onyx DAO. Holders of XCN can propose and vote on network upgrades and earn rewards through staking. The token functions both as a utility for transactions and as a governance mechanism for the decentralized ecosystem.
