What is Clover Finance?
Clover Finance (CLV) is a blockchain operating system designed to simplify cross-chain interoperability and decentralized finance (DeFi) access. Built on Substrate and functioning as a Polkadot parachain, Clover provides an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible framework that supports seamless interaction between different blockchains. It integrates multiple layers, including a storage layer, smart contract layer, DeFi protocol layer, and an external application (eApp) layer, enabling developers to build and deploy decentralized applications (DApps) across multiple blockchain networks.
Clover Finance facilitates smooth cross-chain interactions by offering a full-service DeFi bridge that enhances blockchain interoperability. The eApp layer allows developers to deploy applications without relying on external virtual machines or additional network bandwidth. A unique transaction relayer mechanism enables third-party participants to cover gas fees on behalf of users, with fees deducted directly from transacted assets. Additionally, Clover implements an identity-based gas fee system, reducing transaction costs for frequent network users based on their activity levels.
The CLV token is central to the Clover ecosystem, serving multiple roles, including governance, staking, and transaction fee payments. CLV holders can participate in network governance by voting on protocol upgrades and development proposals. The token is also used for staking, securing the network, and incentivizing validators. Additionally, CLV facilitates gas fee payments within the ecosystem, benefiting from Clover’s identity-based gas fee structure, which reduces costs for active users.
