What is Mango?

Mango Markets is a decentralized trading and investment platform built on the Solana blockchain. It offers a hybrid model that combines elements of centralized finance (CeFi) and decentralized finance (DeFi), allowing users to trade derivatives, lend assets, leverage options, and provide liquidity.

Mango Markets integrates various DeFi tools and services within its platform. Users can participate as market takers, buying assets at current prices, or market makers, waiting for favorable price conditions to execute trades—the platform leverages Solana’s scalability and low transaction costs to offer efficient trading and liquidity management. Governance and protocol changes are handled via the Mango DAO, ensuring decentralized decision-making. The platform also supports liquidity provision through partnerships with DeFi protocols like Raydium and Orca, further enabling users to stake their assets in liquidity pools for rewards.

The MNGO token is the core utility and governance token of the Mango Markets ecosystem, with a fixed supply of 10 billion tokens. It enables users to vote on governance proposals, earn rewards by contributing to liquidity and lending pools, and pay transaction fees on the platform. Additionally, holding MNGO provides users with exclusive perks and discounts. Proposals for protocol modifications require at least 200 million MNGO tokens to pass, with voting conducted through the Mango DAO. The token can also be staked in liquidity pools on platforms like Raydium and Orca, generating additional returns for participants.
