What is MovieBloc?
MovieBloc’s mission is to address issues caused by the domination of the theatre and home entertainment industry by conglomerates using blockchain technology. It ensures transparent revenue sharing, provides audience data, and offers equal screening opportunities for creators. Viewers gain access to diverse films and content and are rewarded for their contributions to curation, subtitles, and marketing materials. Over 100 movies and dramas have been screened, and MovieBloc aims to create the largest participant-centered film ecosystem.
In February 2020, MovieBloc acquired ‘Cobak,’ a Korean crypto community service offering a crypto wallet, community, real-time ticker, news, airdrop, and token sale services. In March 2020, MovieBloc established MBL Media, focusing on IP development, production, and copyright management for animation and movie content.
The MBL token is integral to economic activities within the MovieBloc ecosystem. It is used for accessing premium content (TVOD), paying translators, donating to participants (creators and translators), and rewarding users for actions such as reporting illegal content, rating films, and reviewing films.
