Polygon to Launch Astar ZkEVM
Polygon is launching Astar zkEVM, a ZK-powered rollup built with Polygon CDK. This is the first protocol to be fully integrated with the AggLayer. The launch is a result of a collaboration between the core developers at Polygon Labs, Astar Network, and Gelato.

Today, Astar Network is launching Astar zkEVM, a ZK-powered rollup built with Polygon CDK—and the first protocol fully integrated with the AggLayer.
This is big. It took a team of core devs at Polygon Labs, Astar Network, and Gelato to kick off the age of aggregation with a historic technical accomplishment that combines the best of monolithic and modular blockchains—(shared liquidity) x (blockchain sovereignty).
Astar zkEVM joins a shared unified bridge that went live with the first components of the AggLayer last month, becoming natively interoperable with Polygon zkEVM. Two chains, unified liquidity. And all without sacrificing sovereignty.
Implemented with the support of Gelato 🟠, Astar Network continues its position as Japan’s leading blockchain, becoming an aggregated pioneer.
