이 업데이트는 시즌 8(S8)을 위해 새로 선출된 공증 노드 공개 키를 도입하고, 코모도 커뮤니티에서 승인한 KIP0002(KMD 블록 보상 감소)와 KIP0003(KMD 거래 수수료 소각)을 포함한 주요 합의 변경 사항을 구현합니다.
개발팀은 이미 변경 사항을 Komodo 코드베이스에 통합했으며, 2024년 10월 3일 이전에 전체 네트워크에 대한 업그레이드가 필수입니다. Komodo 데몬을 운영하는 사용자는 가능한 한 빨리 업데이트해야 합니다.

하드포크란?
암호화폐 메인넷은 특정 규칙에 따라 작동합니다. 네트워크 성능을 개선하거나 오류를 수정하기 위해 주기적으로 변경 사항이 도입됩니다. 하드포크(Hard Fork)는 암호화폐 네트워크를 지원하는 이전 버전의 소프트웨어와 호환되지 않는 변경 사항을 나타냅니다. 암호화폐를 계속 채굴하려면 채굴자는 소프트웨어를 업데이트해야 합니다.
경우에 따라 비트코인 캐시 및 이더리움 PoW에서와 같이 하드 포크의 결과로 완전히 새로운 암호화폐가 나타날 수 있습니다.

The Komodo #blockchain network will undergo its annual network upgrade (hard fork) at KMD block height 4125988 (expected to take place on October 4, 2024, at 13:37:33 UTC).
Asset chains (Komodo Smart Chains) will activate the upgrade precisely at timestamp 1728049053.
The Development team has already activated changes to the Komodo code base. The changes are mandatory for the entire network before October 3, 2024.
This release includes the newly elected notary node pub keys for S8 (Season 8), along with other important consensus changes and improvements such as KIP0002 (KMD Block Reward Reduction) and KIP0003 (KMD Transaction Fee Burn), both of which were voted on and accepted by the Komodo community.
