Status Weekly Roundup: Desktop Messenger team

Hello from the Desktop messenger team!

this week has been mostly about wrapping up for the Status Desktop 0.13 alpha release that is coming out soon.

The finishing touches are being put on:

🔏 Token gated channel permissions in a Status Community. You’ll have control of who can post to or view certain channels within your community!

🔗 The new URL scheme that makes web links to content inside Status (like Status communities and Status user profiles) much more informative, descriptive and attractive, especially when a person who doesn’t yet have Status installed clicks on them. We hope that easily shareable URLs to content inside Status (that can be shared via Web2 social media or centralized messaging apps or even by email) will help bring new users into Status!

🔄 Fixes to account synching. We want to make sure that if you ever need to re-import your account, it’s as friction-less as possible. We wouldn’t say that all the work needed here is done yet, but we are making good progress.
