What is Stratis?
Stratis (STRAX) is a powerful and flexible blockchain development platform designed for the needs of real-world enterprise and financial services. Launched in 2016 by Chris Trew, Stratis provides businesses and organizations the tools to test and deploy their own private blockchains within the native Stratis ecosystem. The key differentiator of Stratis is that it allows developers to build applications in the widely understood language of C# .NET, a factor which aims to increase adoption and ease of use.
The platform’s native cryptocurrency token, STRAX, is used within its ecosystem to facilitate various operations and secure the network. Stratis also offers a proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus algorithm, meaning holders of STRAX can stake their coins in return for transaction verification rewards. It has a unique feature called TumbleBit, which provides privacy for users by making transactions nearly impossible to trace. In a nutshell, Stratis seeks to offer an easy-to-use platform for developers and businesses wanting to create custom blockchain solutions.
